Gregory Schipilliti Cid

Director - International DailyPay

“Leading Charge With Integrity, Individuality, and Imagination”

About
Gregory Schipilliti Cid

“Integrity became my compass, authenticity my voice. And my journey is about building bridges, not walls,” says Gregory (Goyo) Schipilliti Cid, who has expertise in the Fintech, Banking, CPG, and Hospitality industries. Having worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, he is currently working as the International Director of DailyPay.Inc.

Journey and Experiences

Gregory feels that his path is not a straight line. Most of his learnings came from battling big challenges, which helped shape his empathy and understanding and forge strong connections. Growing up in Madrid’s Mountain region, surrounded by farms, he always found comfort in the simpler things. Communication-wise, he believes in the power of honest conversations and the strength found in genuine connection.

He recalls, “Funny enough, I once wanted to be a professional basketball player or actor, but those ambitions ended early. What I did know is that I trusted my values and principles. I always had a good foundation with my family. To this date, my family is my ultimate North Star. Regardless of where I was/am in an organisation, my journey shaped me to adopt a “no job too big or too small” mentality.” Due to this mentality, he can do GTM; the other day, he was doing Compliance or Finance, and then another day, he is working on Product. Or he is working on all three in one morning.

Effectual Expertise

He feels he can provide tools to navigate challenges, implement strategies to seize opportunities, and confidently reassure folks that they can redefine their limits. His goal is empowering clients to not just climb a proverbial ladder but to think about the common challenge we all face and how to tackle it together. He uses a handful of mantras, one of which is that aligned/mutual interest is more powerful than compound interest. If we use our problem-solving and execution skills to one unified mission, he does not see a client's career graph as linear but as a canvas of possibilities.

Memorable Clients and Brands

Working across Gucci, Diageo (Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Crown Royal, Bulleit), Leading Hotels of the World, and DailyPay has shaped his product and brand philosophy. Gucci's bold creativity and avant-garde vision taught him to champion innovation. Diageo's global strategy and iconic portfolio of brands highlighted the power of consistent brand storytelling. LHW emphasises bespoke experiences, while DailyPay helps him operate in a platform that allows him to help change the world - revolutionise how people get paid and soon realise it’s about laying a foundation to create more opportunities for employees and employers to win together, transforming lives by maximising individual financial wellness.

Biggest Role Models

Foundationally, he is blessed with parents who unconditionally love him. His mom was his rock and anchor growing up, and his father was his cheerleader, which gave him his business sense. But he feels his biggest role model and hero is his wife. Her strength, empathy, and unwavering belief in him make him feel he can tackle anything. She reinforces in him the power of genuine connection, the importance of resilience in the face of setbacks, and the courage to pursue passion over security. And naturally, his three beautiful daughters are his guiding lights and inspiration.

Effective Tools and Methods

Gregory’s advisory sessions are about igniting curiosity and ensuring proper execution. Tactically, he employs personalised roadmaps, breaking down complex concepts into actionable milestones, ensuring tangible progress, and reminding folks of the basics (e.g., Distribution, GTM, Product, Integration, Funding, Compliance, Unit Economics). Inspirationally, he weaves storytelling, connecting theory to real-world impact and trying to spark 'aha' moments. He and his team use visual frameworks and interactive exercises to activate learning, encouraging deep reflection and self-discovery.

Invaluable Benefits To Clients

Gregory hopes that his clients leave with a clearer understanding of their path. He aims to provide practical tools and strategies they can use immediately and more confidence in their abilities. If he can help them navigate a challenge or see a new perspective, that is time well spent. He tries to listen more than he talks and build a collaborative space where all parties feel heard and understood. Ultimately, he hopes folks leave feeling more empowered to make informed decisions, knowing they have the resources to move forward.

Strengths and Weaknesses

His greatest strength is knowing he is never, ever going to be the smartest person in the room. That forces him to meticulously and maniacally focus on developing his strategic vision, be decisive in his leadership, and be intentional in his execution. He takes pride in fostering and building high-performing teams. He prioritises clear communication and cultivates strong stakeholder relationships. His weakness is that there are not enough hours in the day. He remarks, “Being a father is my biggest blessing and challenge. I’ve learned to be more relentless. But that also means I need more sleep!”

Industry Projections

When it comes to industry projections, he says, “Earned Wage Access (“EWA” or On Demand Pay) as an industry exists because the reality of having to wait for your paycheck or even simply stating your already earned wages is antiquated. EWA's realistic projection hinges on integration and regulation. Expect wider adoption as it becomes a standard payroll feature, not a fringe benefit. Demand will drive growth, where immediate access to earned wages is crucial. Financial literacy tools offered alongside EWA will differentiate providers. Expect a shift from simple cash-out to comprehensive financial wellness platforms. Consolidation and strategic partnerships will shape the competitive landscape.”

Accolades and Achievements

Most recently, he was included in the Business Elite "40 Under 40" Award by Business Elite Awards. Gregory does not count accolades but feels that the real achievements in his life are that he married his best friend and hero and loves his children deeply. He says, “I have had reference points for parents. I grew up with my siblings as partners in crime. And have a solid group of friends. For those who genuinely know me, I mean every word of this: My biggest award is that I have been blessed with a life for which I am grateful.”

Candid Thoughts

Gregory (Goyo) Schipilliti Cid shares his thoughts and says, “Find happiness and gratitude. That’s different for everyone, but be maniacally focused on prioritising elements of life that you know, when we reach our inevitability, that you have no regrets. Don't focus on some distant ideal; appreciate the time you have now. Use your time to build a supportive and loving environment. Forgive past conflicts and make a conscious effort to be present. Be kind and patient. Build your life around family connections because you'll find lasting happiness in those relationships. I lost my mother tragically, but what I learned from that is that the one thing you can control is your attitude.”
